Vadodara: Swimmers celebrate Independence Day with unique flag display in the pool

In a distinctive display of patriotism and unity, swimmers at the Sama Sports Complex in Vadodara uniquely celebrated the 78th Independence Day by waving the tricolour in the pool.

Vadodara (Gujarat) [India], August 15 (ANI): In a distinctive display of patriotism and unity, swimmers at the Sama Sports Complex in Vadodara uniquely celebrated the 78th Independence Day by waving the tricolour in the pool.
Holding the Indian tricolour in one hand, the swimmers performed various moves, mesmerising the onlookers with their skill and creativity. They expressed their desire to celebrate the special day extraordinarily.
"We chose to do the flag hoisting through the aqua medium to make the celebration unique. It is a matter of pride for us that so many of our fellow countrymen have participated in the Olympics as well," said swimming coach Aara Janjkuriya.
Swimmer Vibha Deshpande added, "We celebrate all festivals here, and that's why we also hoisted the flag on Independence Day to mark the occasion."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag today at Red Fort in the national capital, for the 11th consecutive time on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day.

The theme of this year's Independence Day is 'Viksit Bharat @ 2047'. The celebrations will serve as a platform to provide a renewed push to the government's efforts towards transforming the country into a developed nation by 2047.
Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day adding that freedom is a protective shield woven into the constitutional and democratic values.

Taking to the social media platform X, he said, "Happy Independence Day to all countrymen. For us, freedom is not just a word - it is our biggest protective shield, woven into constitutional and democratic values." (ANI)
