Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) [India], November 6 (ANI): The Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath reached the winter seat of Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath from Vishwanath Temple Guptkashi, ceremonially with devotional tunes of Army Band and local musical instruments on Tuesday.
On this occasion, the Panchmukhi Doli was given a grand welcome by the devotees and Omkareshwar Temple was decorated with flowers.
Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President, Ajendra Ajay, congratulated the devotees on the arrival of Lord Kedarnath's Panchmukhi Doli at the winter seat of Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath and thanked all those involved in the Doli Yatra.
BKTC media in-charge, Dr. Harish Gaur, in a press release, said, "The doors of Kedarnath temple were closed on Bhaiya Dooj, November 3, for winter season."
He added, on Monday, "The Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath left from Rampur and reached Vishwanath Temple, Guptkashi in the evening."

On Tuesday, the Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath commenced its procession from Vishwanath Temple, Guptkashi, bound for Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. The journey included scheduled halts, enabling devotees to offer prayers and pay homage. The Doli was greeted with elaborate flower showers at various points along the route, including Guptkashi Bazaar, Vidyapeeth, Kund, Sansari, and Ukhimath Temple, Gaur said.
Kedarnath is part of one of the four high-altitude Dhams in Uttarakhand, consisting of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
The shrines remain shut for around six months every year, opening in the summers during April or May generally, and closing usually around October or November.
The holy pilgrimage starts from Yamunotri, proceeds towards Gangotri, onto Kedarnath, and finally ends at Badrinath. This year, there have been more than 40 lakh visitors across all four shrines. (ANI)
