Uttarakhand: Locals protest over rape of minor girl in Chamoli, market shut down

Locals in the Tharali area market staged a demonstration on Thursday, demanding strict action against the accused involved in raping a minor.

Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], October 10 (ANI): Locals in the Tharali area market staged a demonstration on Thursday, demanding strict action against the accused involved in raping a minor.
During this time the market remained completely closed.

The barber has been accused of raping a minor girl and making her video viral on social media.

Chamoli Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar said that a case has been registered against the accused, he has been sent to jail and the situation is under control.
"According to the FIR, the father of a minor girl had complained that the accused raped his daughter. The accused has been arrested by Thana Tharali Police and a case has been made under applicable sections of the law," said Sarvesh Panwar, SP Chamoli
