Uttarakhand govt to release pending assistance for apple farmers from Oct 27

According to a release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), in this regard, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed that the pending state assistance for beneficiary farmers under Mission Apple (operated from 2016-17 to 2022-23) and the Ultra-High Density Apple Plantation Scheme (operational from 2023-24) be paid on a priority basis.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 26 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday stated that the government is fully committed to the welfare of farmers. The pending state assistance for the beneficiaries of the Mission Apple and Ultra-High Density Apple Plantation Scheme will be released promptly. The process for this will commence from Monday.
According to a release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), in this regard, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed that the pending state assistance for beneficiary farmers under Mission Apple (operated from 2016-17 to 2022-23) and the Ultra-High Density Apple Plantation Scheme (operational from 2023-24) be paid on a priority basis.
Following the Chief Minister's instructions, Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan held a meeting on Sunday with the Principal Secretary (Law), Secretary (Finance), and Secretary (Agriculture & Farmer Welfare). He directed that the process of providing financial assistance to beneficiary farmers -- including physical verification and other required procedures -- begin from Monday, 27 October. The Chief Secretary also instructed all concerned departments to complete the necessary formalities for the release of the pending financial assistance at the earliest.
He further informed that a budget provision of ₹35 crore has been made for the apple plantation scheme for the year 2025-26. If additional funds are required to provide state assistance to farmers, the state government will make the necessary arrangements.
The Chief Secretary issued strict instructions to all Chief and District Horticulture Officers to begin physical verification and other formal procedures related to the payment of pending financial assistance to farmers under Mission Apple and the Ultra-High Density Apple Plantation Scheme from 27 October 2025.
Meanwhile, CM Dhami has approved allocation of Rs 4.16 crore for the reconstruction and improvement of the Laloori-Ghiakoti-Kyarda Motor Road under the Dhanaulti Assembly constituency in Tehri Garhwal district.
Additionally, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 4.57 crore through the Uttarakhand Project Development and Construction Corporation Ltd. for the development of the Rankauchi Temple in Champawat, a release said.
The Chief Minister has also approved Rs 5 crore for the construction of a new drinking water project (including a new pipeline and overhead tank) at Police Lines, Race Course, Dehradun; Rs 51 crore for the construction of 120 Type-II quarters (Block-C) at the same location; and Rs 19 crore for the construction of a multi-storey building with 20 Type-3 and 20 Type-4 residential quarters at the Lok Seva Aayog's Bhagirath residential complex.
In addition, Rs 54 crore has been sanctioned for 120 Type-II residential quarters at IRB Second Battalion, Dehradun, along with Rs 13.73 crore under the State Plan for the construction of multipurpose buildings (including electrification) at Raj Bhavan, Dehradun. (ANI)
