Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India] October 10 (ANI): On the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Right to Information Act, Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh felicitated the Public Information Officers and First Appellate Officers of the state who have done commendable work, during a program organized by the State's Information Commission at the Raj Bhavan Auditorium, an official release stated.
On this occasion, Chief Information Commissioner-in-charge, Vivek Sharma praised the work of Uttarakhand Police. He said that Uttarakhand Police has done important work under the Right to Information Act, which ensures transparency and accountability.
According to the press release, the Governor also praised the excellent work being done by Uttarakhand Police under the leadership of Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar. In particular, the efforts of the Police Department to dispose of the applications in the shortest possible time were appreciated. In this sequence, SHO, Narendra Nagar, Tehri Garhwal, Gopal Dutt Bhatt was honored for his remarkable work. The Governor congratulated him and said that the Right to Information Act makes the governance and administration more accountable and transparent, which strengthens good governance and receives corrective suggestions.
Director General of Police, Abhinav Kumar, while congratulating SHO Gopal Dutt Bhatt, said that this honour will inspire other officers as well. He expressed confidence that Uttarakhand Police will continue its functioning with transparency and accountability in accordance with public sentiments. (ANI)
