Uttarakhand CM tells district magistrates to prioritise prompt resolution of public grievances

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday directed all the District Magistrates through virtual medium that prompt resolution of public grievances should be given top priority, so that transparency and accountability are maintained in the functioning of the administration.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], April 21 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday directed all the District Magistrates through a virtual medium that prompt resolution of public grievances should be given top priority so that transparency and accountability are maintained in the functioning of the administration.
During the review of the upcoming Chardham Yatra arrangements, he directed that arrangements be ensured by coordinating with local public representatives, hoteliers and other stakeholders.
The Chief Minister has directed all the departmental secretaries and district magistrates to improve all the arrangements at the level of departments and district administration during the Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand. Chardham Yatra is a major centre of faith, and is also linked to the livelihood of the local people, a release said.

The Chief Minister has also instructed the officials to maintain continuous coordination with all the stakeholders associated with the Chardham Yatra. Special attention should be paid to making the Chardham Yatra clean, beautiful and environmentally friendly. Public cooperation should also be taken for this. Cleanliness, beautification, and passenger facilities should be given priority on the travel routes.
The Chief Minister said that special attention should be paid to the traffic system regarding the upcoming Chardham Yatra, so that devotees and local people do not face any problems.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister has directed all the District Magistrates, along with the Forest Department, to make full preparations for forest fire management. Adequate arrangements of necessary equipment should be made in areas sensitive to forest fire.
For quick action to control forest fires, the numbers of local people and public representatives should also be kept updated, so that in case of a forest fire, it can be controlled quickly. Teams should be deployed in areas prone to forest fires, and their continuous monitoring should also be done. Mobile patrol teams should also be deployed.
The Chief Minister said that it should be ensured that people do not face any problem of drinking water in summer. If drinking water problems arise, they should be resolved quickly. Adequate availability of drinking water tankers should also be ensured. The Chief Minister has also instructed all the District Magistrates to hold meetings at their level to resolve drinking water problems.
He has also instructed the officials to take all protective measures in view of the upcoming monsoon season. During the meeting, the Chief Minister also took information from all the District Magistrates about the progress of works related to flood protection. All remedial works should be done in areas sensitive to waterlogging.
The Chief Minister said that public hearings should be conducted regularly by the District Magistrates. People should be given maximum benefits of the schemes through Tehsil Diwas, BDC meetings and multipurpose camps. He said that it should be ensured that people do not have to visit offices unnecessarily. People should benefit as much as possible through e-services. Action should also be taken against personnel who unnecessarily delay work.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to resolve the complaints received regarding electricity bills immediately. The Chief Minister has also given instructions to expedite the process of installing smart meters.
The Chief Minister said in the meeting that constant monitoring should be kept on outsiders and suspicious activities in the state. Regular action should be taken against illegal encroachment. Personnel who provide facilities like Aadhar card, voter ID, electricity-water connection to ineligible people unauthorisedly should be immediately suspended and termination proceedings should also be started.
This is a matter related to the security of the state, in which there will be no compromise. The Chief Minister directed both the Divisional Commissioners to personally go to the field and physically verify the progress of these instructions and the progress report of all the works should be made available to the Chief Minister's Office before the next review meeting.
