Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 2 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday reviewed the law and order situation of the state in detail with senior officials of the government through video conferencing at the Chief Minister's residence.
The meeting included the Director General of Police, Commissioners, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police, among others.

According to an official release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), "CM Dhami gave strict instructions to the officers to make the law and order of the state tight and proper and to effectively control the crimes."
Expressing displeasure over the crimes, including robbery at jewellery shops in the state, the Chief Minister directed to focus on mutual coordination of officers for effective control of crimes, quick communication of information, making the intelligence system effective, ensuring the arrangement of night patrolling.
The Chief Minister directed the Senior Superintendents of Police to brief any criminal incident in time and also asked them to provide its information to the Director General of Information immediately, so that the real status of the incidents reaches the general public through the media. He asked them to maintain constant coordination with the media.
CM Dhami also asked the officials to focus on making the Gaura Shakti app more active to control crimes against women. He said that despite having laws in cases of religious conversion, love jihad etc., the lack of a ban on it is a matter of concern, special attention should be paid to this.
He also said that there is a need to think about where and why crimes are increasing in the state. He also gave instructions to focus on coordination between all the concerned agencies to solve the problem of demographic change.
The Chief Minister said that continuous intensive checking campaigns should be conducted in the border areas so that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand does not become a refuge for criminals from outside states. It should be ensured that the fear of police in the minds of criminals and the trust of the common people towards the police increases.
The Chief Minister, while giving instructions to constitute an inquiry committee under the chairmanship of SP City in the case of robbery of a jewellery shop in Haridwar, said that action should be ensured against whoever is responsible in this case.
He also stressed on making efforts to make Uttarakhand a drug-free state by 2025 and focussing on community policing.
The Chief Minister also said that there is a need to think about what can be done better to control crime in the state.
He also stressed on prompt redressal of complaints and simple behaviour of officers with subordinates and staying away from regionalism. The Chief Minister has given instructions to make public awareness and training programmes effective for effective prevention of cyber crime. (ANI)
