Uttarakhand CM Dhami inspects police HQ; takes stock of women's safety helpline

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection of the police headquarters in Dehradun and took stock of the women's safety helpline operated from the police headquarters and various activities being conducted by the police.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 4 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday conducted a surprise inspection of the police headquarters in Dehradun and took stock of the women's safety helpline operated from the police headquarters and various activities being conducted by the police.
During this, the Chief Minister directed the officers to strengthen the law and order in the state. Strict action should be taken against the anarchic elements who play with the law and order and disturb the peace.
He said that prompt action should be taken on incidents related to crimes against women. It should be ensured that the needy people get immediate police assistance.

The Chief Minister directed the senior police officers to take action as soon as possible on cases of demography change, conversion, and love jihad.
He said that those who disturb the peace of the state will not be spared. "An intensive campaign should be run by the police to catch the criminals and people with criminal backgrounds should be regularly monitored," he added.
The Chief Minister directed the senior police officers to conduct a field inspection of the police stations from where they started their job, and as per the need, they should also cooperate in strengthening the concerned police stations.
The Chief Minister directed the police officers to increase patrolling in the border areas of the state and keep a watch on those coming and going in the state. Continuous efforts should be made to reduce crime.
CM Dhami directed that senior women IPS officers should be given responsibility to prevent crimes against women and to provide them quick justice.

The Chief Minister also directed the officers to coordinate among themselves for effective control of crime, quick exchange of information, further strengthening the intelligence system and ensuring regular arrangements for night patrolling. Patrolling should be increased by keeping a constant watch on the areas where criminal activities have increased.
The Chief Minister said that regular training should be given to the police personnel.
"Cyber crime and other technology based training should be given to the police personnel from time to time," CM Dhami said.
During the inspection, DGP Abhinav Kumar, ADG Amit Kumar Sinha, V Murugeshan, AP Anshuman, IG Vimmi Sachdeva, Nilesh Anand Bharane, KS Nagnyal, Additional Secretary Home Nivedita Kukreti, DIG Senthil Abudayi and SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh were present. (ANI)
