Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], November 11 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated three schemes worth Rs 13.78 crore while participating in the program organized at Panna Lal Bhalla Cricket Stadium on Monday.

The schemes inaugurated include development and expansion work of Panna Lal Bhalla Cricket Stadium at a cost of Rs 9.05 crore, electrical facade beautification work of Dam Kothi Bridge at a cost of Rs 1.43 crore, electrical facade beautification work of Chandi Devi Bridge at a cost of Rs 3.30 crore.
During this, the Chief Minister said that today a new confidence will be awakened among the youth towards sports and the day is not far when Uttarakhand will be recognized as Devbhoomi as well as the land of sports talents. "Both our country and state are young, the ambitions of the youth power are also young. Giving wings to the dreams of the youth is our first priority, every policy, every decision of ours is being taken keeping the youth at the center," he said.
CM Dhami said that in the silver jubilee year of the establishment of the state, Haridwar Development Authority has given such a big gift in the field of sports to the religious city today and due to the hard work of the officers and young employees, the stadium has been built in one year and is ready for the players, which will give full benefit to the youth of Haridwar and Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that a great yagna of development is going on in Uttarakhand, we all have to sacrifice our time and hard work to complete the yagya. He said that if the government works with good intentions and hard work, then its results also come positively good.
The Chief Minister said that our government, running under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has eliminated the disappointment of the youth and given them new hope. Such a magnificent cricket stadium has been built for the youth in Haridwar, we are fully committed to hone their talent for the development of the youth. Haridwar is going to shine more after the inauguration of the cricket stadium.
The Chief Minister said, "In future our government is going to make a comprehensive and youth policy for the youth of the state for their interests. Employment of youth will be focused on personality development. We are working at every level so that the youth of Uttarakhand do not lack opportunities. Organizing national games in Uttarakhand is a part of this series. These events will awaken a new faith in the youth towards sports and the day is not far when our Devbhoomi will be recognized as the land of sports talents in Uttarakhand. At this time, our first priority is moving ahead in an unprecedented manner in the development of sports infrastructure in Uttarakhand."
The Chief Minister praised the work of Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority and said that whether the authority has set up a spot zone under the Shankaracharya Chowk flyover or has constructed a multi-story sports zone near the stadium, it is a good initiative to create a zone. He said that along with the construction of a sports university in Uttarakhand, there are two international stadiums, 89 mini stadiums and more than 150 sports grounds.
The Chief Minister said that today players are getting government jobs for performing well in sports and their respect is increasing. Sports have a special significance for the overall development of youth, so our government has also made a specific sports policy to strengthen the grassroots infrastructure of sports in the state.
"Our government is giving cash prizes to the players for earning medals, on the other hand, distinguished players are also being honored with Devbhoomi Uttarakhand Khel Ratna. We are also giving Dronacharya Award to honor the coach for enhancing the talent of the players. So that the players of Uttarakhand do not face any inconvenience, through the Chief Minister's Udyaman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana and Chief Minister Khiladi Protsahan Yojana, travel facilities are also being provided to the players who perform in the national competition. The youth of our state are making Uttarakhand proud at the national and international level, it is a matter of pride for all of us. Today, the only goal of our government is the development of Uttarakhand," he added.
CM Dhami, who has created an image of his simple and energetic behavior among the people of the state, also tried his hand at cricket after inaugurating the stadium. He hit a six on the first ball of Roorkee MLA Adesh Chauhan and then hit a four on the second ball, proving that he is fire not only in the field of politics but also in the field of cricket. (ANI)
