Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) [India], August 1 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a field inspection of areas affected by heavy rains in Kedarghati, Rudraprayag district on Wednesday night.
During the inspection, he directed the District Magistrate Rudraprayag to speed up the work of repairing the damaged roads and footpaths. He said that people from affected places should be brought to safe places soon.
During the inspection of the affected area, the Chief Minister met the devotees and inquired about their well-being. He directed the District Magistrate Rudraprayag to bring the devotees stranded on the Yatra route to safe places as soon as possible as well as provide food and other essential facilities.

The Chief Minister also directed to make a complete assessment of the damage caused by heavy rains in the affected area.
He said, "The permissible assistance amount should be made available to the affected immediately. Instructions have been given to streamline the supply of road connectivity, electricity and drinking water to make life normal in the disaster-affected area."
District Magistrate Rudraprayag Dr Saurabh Gaharwar informed that as soon as information was received about pilgrims being stranded on the Kedarnath Yatra route, they were being brought to safer places, and arrangements for food and medical facilities were made for them. He said that by 1 pm today, about 300 pilgrims had been brought to safer places.
He said that people were being moved to safer places from landslide-sensitive places. The process of building bridges and damaged roads washed away by heavy rains is also in progress.
Earlier CM Dhami reached the disaster-affected areas of Rudraprayag and Kedarnath route where roads broke due to river erosions and heavy rains on Thursday and inquired about the well-being of the devotees. (ANI)
