Uttarakhand Chief Secretary orders swift resolution of freedom fighters' issues

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi on Monday directed all the district magistrates to hold a meeting with the freedom fighters of their respective districts.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 29 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi on Monday directed all district magistrates to hold meetings with the freedom fighters in their respective districts.
The Chief Secretary also instructed the district magistrates to appoint nodal officers at the tehsil level for the swift resolution of freedom fighters' issues and to immediately provide their names and mobile numbers to the government. She further directed them to honour freedom fighters in government programmes on various occasions.
Raturi held a meeting with freedom fighters and their successors at the Secretariat.
The Chief Secretary gathered information about the problems faced by the freedom fighters present and instructed the concerned officers to resolve them promptly.
She commended the District Magistrate of Chamoli for excellent work in this direction.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi directed the district magistrates to prioritise resolving cases related to the naming of roads, squares, and gates and the installation of stone plaques in memory of freedom fighters.
The Chief Secretary also instructed the officers of the concerned departments to take immediate action on various cases involving the successors of freedom fighters.
Secretaries of all concerned departments, district magistrates from all districts, freedom fighters, and their successors attended the meeting virtually. (ANI)
