Uttar Pradesh: Police catches hold of two arms smugglers

Speaking in Hyderabad during a surrender programme where 130 Maoists laid down arms, Reddy said the government believes change can be achieved through democratic means rather than violence.

"130 cadres of the CPI (Maoist) party surrendered today. They handed over 124 weapons to the police, including INSAS and AK-47 rifles. All these weapons were looted from the police force. This is a major success for the government and the Telangana Police Force," Reddy said.

In Uttar Pradesh's Shamli, parents of Aastha Jain, who secured the 9th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025, expressed their pride. Her father said, "She secured 4th rank across India in the 12th board examinations. She has also cracked the UPSC exam three times. Currently, she is in the Rajasthan IPS cadre and is undergoing training in Hyderabad."

It is noteworthy that today, in Mahasamund district, Chhattisgarh, which borders Bargarh district, 15 Maoists laid down their arms and joined the mainstream of society. These cadres were active in the Bargarh-Bolangir-Mahasamund division.

DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin welcomed O. Panneerselvam into the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), calling him a "dear brother" and praising his humility and virtues.
