Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi leads traditional Vijayadashami procession from Gorakhnath temple

People from all walks of life participated in the traditional procession. The procession reached the Mansarovar temple amidst the music of trumpets, drums and bands.

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 24 (ANI): To strengthen the fabric of social harmony and inculcate the spirit of people's welfare, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led the traditional 'Shobhayatra' on Tuesday evening from Gorakhnath temple on the occasion of Vijayadashami.
People from all walks of life participated in the traditional procession. The procession reached the Mansarovar temple amidst the music of trumpets, drums and bands.
After reaching the temple, the Head of Gorakshapeeth, Yogi Adityanath worshipped Lord Mahadev at the Mansarovar temple attached to Gorakshapeeth.
Thereafter Yogi Adityanath joined in the evening aarati for Lord Ram, Mata Janaki, Lakshmana and Hanuman.
Dressed in the special attire of Gorakshpeethadhishwar, the CM Yogi blessed the devotees at the traditional Tilakotsav program held at Gorakhnath temple on Vijayadashami.
A traditional feast was also organized in the Gorakhnath temple, in which a large number of people from across the state participated beyond the distinction of rich-poor and caste religion.
Gorakshpeethadhishwar and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday applied tilak on the foreheads of saints and sages and gave them his blessings on Vijayadashami at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur.
According to an official statement from the Chief Minister's office, "A traditional Tilakotsav program was organized at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur on Tuesday on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami."
"During this event, Gorakshpeethadhishwar Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath applied tilak on the forehead of saints and sages and gave them his blessings," it said.
Following this, the household devotees also paid their respects to the Gorakshpeethadhishwar and received his blessings. Gorakshpeethadhishwar then gave his blessings to everyone, extending his wishes for Vijayadashami.
All the people participating in Tilakotsav were also given 'prasad' and grains of barley grown on the altar of Shaktipeeth of the temple, said the statement.
Gorakhpur is the parliamentary constituency of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. (ANI)
