Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 15 (ANI): BJP MLA Devendra Pratap Singh wrote a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the digital attendance system.
In his letter, Devendra Singh suggested, "To be successful in the 2027 elections, our government will have to withdraw this digital attendance. If the government accepts our suggestions, then the Bharatiya Janata Party government will be formed in 2027."
"The government should have consulted with those for whom you are going to do this work... There is no digital attendance in any department of the state, but why is this being done for teachers? Why is this being done against those whose duty is strengthening democracy? Despite so many achievements, why did we lose Lok Sabha 2024? Why did the expected results not come? Because bureaucracy has gone to the extent of anarchy. Our workers are not respected," he told ANI.
"A total of 1621 teachers lost their lives. The government has forgotten their sacrifice...But the rule of their digital attendance has been made to insult them and make them angry," the BJP MLA said.

Meanwhile, teachers protested against the UP government's decision of digital attendance in Aligarh on Monday.
Earlier, the Yogi government issued instructions to implement a digital attendance system for both teachers and students to make state-run schools digitally active.
Under this, both students and teachers will be required to mark their attendance using a face recognition system. (ANI)
