UP woman police inspector abducted, threatened in Lucknow for not withdrawing FIR against man

In a shocking incident, a woman inspector in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow was allegedly kidnapped and later freed on Tuesday. The accused identified as Anshuman Pandey, a resident of Prayagraj, allegedly kidnapped the woman inspector to put pressure on her to withdraw the previous case registered against him.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 17 (ANI): A woman inspector in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow district who had filed a complaint against a youth was allegedly kidnapped and pressurised to withdraw her case, police said.
The woman manged to escape from the clutches of her abductors and has filed a fresh complaint against the man.
The inspector told police that Anshuman Pandey, a resident of Prayagraj was allegedly harassing for the past six months and got her abducted when she did not pay heed to his demands.
Pandey, according to the policewoman was putting pressure on her to withdraw the previous case she had registered against him.
The accused Pandey has been allegedly harassing the woman, who has been posted at Lucknow's Babu Banarasi Das (BBD) police station, for the last six months to withdraw cases lodged against him.
When the woman inspector refused to act according to the accused, he got her abducted.
As per a compaint filed at the BBD Police Station in Lucknow the woman alleged she was abducted from her house.
She alleged that she was threatened that she would be killed if the case lodged against Pandey was not withdrawn.
She said that she was left at a deserted area near the Bithauli intersection from where she managed to flee and reach the BBD Police Station and filed a fresh case against Pandey.
The police said that a case has been registered based on the complaint of the inspector. Police further said that they are scrutinising footage of CCTV cameras and that further action will be taken accordingly. (ANI)
