Uttar Pradesh Power Minister Shrikant Sharma

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 12 (ANI): In a big relief to people residing in multistory buildings in Uttar Pradesh, including Noida and Ghaziabad, the State government has ordered the builders to give multipoint connections to their clients as a replacement to single-point connections.
The decision was taken after the power ministry in the state received multiple complaints from people about the hiked electricity prices from builders.
"People living in multistory buildings mainly in urban areas and NCR had complained that the builders are taking extra money from them as part of their electricity bills. In name of power backup, the builders ask for around Rs 10-12 per unit," Shrikant Sharma, Power Minister of Uttar Pradesh, told ANI.
"The Yogi Adityanath government is providing appropriate amount of electricity to all in the state. Because of this people now trust the government more. After receiving complaints from users since a long time, last night the concerned department took a good decision as part of which the builders will have to give multi-point connections to their clients as a replacement of single-point connections," he added.
The deadline for the same is March 31, 2019. (ANI)
