UP minister Swatantra Dev Singh offers prayers at Mahakaleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain, attends Bhasma Aarti

'Bhasma aarti' (offering with ashes) is a famous ritual here. It is performed during the 'Brahma Muhurta' between around 3:30 and 5:30 in the morning. According to religious beliefs, the wishes of the devotee who participates in the Bhasma aarti are fulfilled.

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 23 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Minister Swatantra Dev Singh on Friday offered prayers at Mahakaleshwar Temple located in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain and sought blessing from Baba Mahakal (Lord Shiva).
Minister Singh also participated in the Bhasma Aarti and was seen engrossed in the devotion while sitting in the Nandi hall of the temple. Famous singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh's sister Sneha Singh also offered prayers and attended the Bhasma Aarti.

'Bhasma aarti' (offering with ashes) is a famous ritual here. It is performed during the 'Brahma Muhurta' between around 3:30 and 5:30 in the morning. According to religious beliefs, the wishes of the devotee who participates in the Bhasma Aarti are fulfilled.
During dhoop-deep Aarti, Minister Singh reached near Baba Mahakal's GarbhaGriha and offered jal to Baba Mahakal through the priest and prayed to Baba Mahakal to keep blessing everyone.
According to the priest of the temple, following the tradition, the doors of Baba Mahakal were opened in the Brahma Muhurta and after that, a holy bath of Lord Mahakal was performed with Panchamrit, which includes milk, curd, ghee, sugar and honey. Thereafter Baba Mahakal was decorated and then Bhasma Aarti and dhoop-deep Aarti was performed amid beating drums and blowing Shankh (conch shells).
After worshipping Baba Mahakal, Minister Swatantra Dev Singh told ANI, "I prayed that Baba Mahakal keeps blessing the people of our country and also keeps blessing PM Modi, Madhya Pradesh CM, and UP CM so that they can continue to serve the people." (ANI)
