UP govt's strict action against negligent officials in handling consolidation-related cases

As per CM Yogi's instructions, the Consolidation Commissioner suspended six people on Thursday, including the Consolidation Officer, for negligence in the triple murder case in Kaushambi in the lease land dispute, while strict action has been taken against a total of twelve people.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 5 (ANI): In response to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's strict stance against delays and negligence in consolidation cases, significant actions have been taken in the Consolidation Department, said an official statement from the government of UP on Thursday.
As per CM Yogi's instructions, the Consolidation Commissioner suspended six people on Thursday, including the Consolidation Officer, for negligence in the triple murder case in Kaushambi in the lease land dispute, while strict action has been taken against a total of twelve people.
These include actions ranging from suspension to FIR and even dismissal from job. Notably, action has been taken by the Consolidation Commissioner against more than a dozen people in the last month.
It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister, in the revenue review meeting held in the Annexe on September 16, gave instructions to take strict action against negligent and corrupt officials. Following this, a list of such officers was prepared at the departmental level. Furthermore, as per sources, more stringent actions may be taken against additional officers in the near future.
Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar said that under the zero-tolerance policy of CM Yogi, action is being taken against corrupt officers and employees. He said that in the triple murder case in Kaushambi, Mithilesh Kumar (Consolidation Officer), Afzal Ahmed Khan (Assistant Consolidation Officer), three Consolidation Lekhpals Shivesh Singh, Shilwant Singh, Ravi Kiran Singh and Ram Asrey (Consolidation Officer) have been suspended for negligence in the lease land dispute, as mentioned in the official statement.
Naveen Kumar further mentioned that the service of Devraj Singh (Consolidation Officer) has been terminated, while Satish Kumar (Assistant Consolidation Officer of Etah) has been demoted and appointed on basic salary for irregularities and indiscipline.
Similarly, departmental action has been initiated by suspending Shamli, Hardoi's Assistant Consolidation Officers Anangpal Singh and Gajraj for violation of rules and negligence in preparing the consolidation plan. Moreover, on the recommendation of the investigation directorate team formed on the complaint of irregularities in consolidation, instructions have been given to suspend the Consolidator and Consolidation Accountant of Mau, read the statement further.
Additionally, departmental action has been initiated against Basti and Hardoi Consolidation Officer Sharadchandra Yadav and Prem Prakash Bharti. Along with this, a letter has been written to the government for action against the retired Bandobast Adhikari Consolidation of Gorakhpur.
The Consolidation Commissioner said that they received a complaint regarding negligence in the consolidation process in the village Shivra of Pratapgarh some time ago. A committee was formed at the directorate level to investigate this. Based on the committee's report, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Omkar Sharan Singh (Consolidation Officer).
Additionally, a show cause notice has been issued to Deputy Director Consolidation Officer Somnath Mishra in Jaunpur. Furthermore, permission has been sought from the government to take disciplinary action against the then-former Bandobast Adhikari Consolidation Sheetalendra Singh, read the UP government statement.
In the last month, with the aim of addressing issues of indiscipline, the Consolidation Commissioner has taken departmental actions against seven Consolidation Officers, namely Sunil Aggarwal, Dhirendrajit Singh, Achhe Lal, Kalyan Pratap Singh, Ramesh Babu, Lalit Kumar, and Ramkishore Singh. Among them, Sunil Aggarwal and Ramkishore Singh have been suspended due to their involvement in irregularities. Moreover, an FIR has been lodged suspending Dhirendrajit Singh.
Additionally, departmental actions have been initiated against Sunil Kumar, Assistant Consolidation Officer, Bareilly, and Ashok Kumar Lal, Assistant Consolidation Officer, Kaushambi. (ANI)
