Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 21 (ANI): In a stern action, the noticeable impact of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's strong displeasure regarding negligence, carelessness, and irregularities in consolidation-related cases resulted in the suspension of careless officials of the Consolidation Department.
"A series of actions are being taken against careless officials in the consolidation department, one after another. In this sequence, the Revenue Commissioner has suspended one Consolidation Officer and two Bandobast Adhikaris on account of their negligence in handling their work on Friday." the Chief Minister's Office said in a release.
Additionally, the consolidation Officer and the Assistant Consolidation Officer have been dismissed and are currently facing departmental action, while FIRs have been filed against two Consolidation Officers for irregularities.
Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen has written a letter to the government to take departmental action after suspending the Bandobast Officers of Ballia, Sitapur Anil Kumar, and Santosh Kumar for being lax in the consolidation work and not working as per the standards. Similarly, Mau Consolidation Officer Ashfaq Alam Ansari has been suspended for not working as per the standards and being lax, and departmental action has been recommended.
Moreover, the then Consolidation Officer and Assistant Consolidation Officer, Kamta Prasad, has been dismissed after being found guilty of causing damage to government land in village Gadhawar of Siddharthnagar, with the recommendation of departmental action, after the charges were proved.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against Consolidation Officer Aligarh Brijesh Kumar Sharma and Maharajganj Ash Muhammad for serious irregularities during consolidation activities.
Sudhir Garg, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department, said, "As per the intention of the Chief Minister, instructions have been given for qualitative improvement in the consolidation process with the aim of making the consolidation department transparent and accountable to the general public."
To achieve this goal, the consolidation department is undergoing a significant transformation. The process is being completely digitized, and the executing agency has been tasked with expediting consolidation tasks with full transparency and active public involvement in order to minimize shortcomings in the process.
Garg further instructed that the widespread errors/deficiencies prevalent in the consolidation works should be removed through technical assistance, and all the data and maps should be accessible online. Under this initiative, Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen will issue electronic tenders for all projects on the basis of the latest technologies like AI, ML, blockchain, and drone-based surveys. As a result, the time required for consolidation will be reduced from three to five years to just one to 1.5 years. (ANI)
