UP CM directs to increase beds in COVID-19 hospitals to 1 lakh by month-end

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 21 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed the concerned officials in the state to increase the number of beds in COVID-19 hospitals to one lakh by the end of this month.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 21 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed the concerned officials in the state to increase the number of beds in COVID-19 hospitals to one lakh by the end of this month.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with the officers of 'COVID-19 management Team-11' today.
According to a press release, "the UP CM expressed satisfaction over the availability of 78,033 beds in L1, L2 and L3 COVID hospitals in the state and directed to increase the number of beds to 1 lakh by the end of this month."
He directed that it should be ensured that doctors take regular rounds (inspection) of COVID hospitals while nursing and para-medical staff to be available as per their schedule regularly.
He directed for the availability of PPE kits, N-95 masks, three-layer masks, sanitizers, medicines and other necessary equipment as per the requirements in the hospitals.
The Chief Minister directed to increase the number of tests for COVID-19 to 10,000 tests per day. He said that decision is taken for establishing a testing lab in every district and therefore it has to be done accordingly so that more testing could be done.
He said in each district, the District Magistrate and District Supply Officer should ensure the availability of food grains to all the needy families.
In Centre's 20 lakh crore special economic package, he directed to move forward the plan to give houses on low rent, it will also help in providing employment to migrant workers/workers.
The chief minister said doorstep delivery arrangements should be managed smoothly in the containment zone. (ANI)
