Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 22 (ANI): Apna Dal (S) and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) have dissolved all of their units and executive committees following a poor performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
Both the constituent parties of NDA in Uttar Pradesh issued a press note and informed about this and cited poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections in the state as the reason for dissolving these units.
SBSP said that soon after reviewing for the 2027 assembly elections, new organization units will be started which will contest the elections with new energy.
Speaking on the issue of dissolving the organization and units, Apna Dal state spokesperson Rakesh Srivastava said that this is a common process and after the defeat in the election, a review is done and changes are also made in the organization and dissolving the units is one of the processes.
Even though the results of the Lok Sabha elections were in favour of BJP-NDA, the results from Uttar Pradesh were not very much in favour of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
NDA was able to get only 36 seats in 80 Lok Sabha, while on the other hand, Congress and Samajwadi Party together won 43 seats in the India Alliance.
After this result in Uttar Pradesh, the process of review is going on where BJP is reviewing the defeat on one hand, and on the other hand, Apna Dal and Om Prakash Rajbhar's SBSP have dissolved all their state units and executive committees.
In Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party threw up a big surprise as it won 37 seats, becoming a single party in the state that sends the highest number of MPs to the Lok Sabha.
Congress, which fought in alliance with the SP and is part of the INDIA bloc, won six seats in the state. Collectively the opposition INDIA bloc has won 43 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, which was locked in a tense competition with the SP, managed to bag only 33 seats. Thus, marking a steep decline compared to its 2019 UP tally of 63 seats.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi won with a declined margin of over 1.5 lakh votes against Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajai Rai in Varanasi.
In a major setback to the BJP, Union minister Smriti Irani lost the Amethi Lok Sabha seat.
Dimple Yadav defeated BJP's candidate Jayveer Singh in Mainpuri, while her husband and party chief, Akhilesh Yadav, won Kannauj against BJP candidate Subrat Pathak.
In Faizabad, encompassing the Ayodhya Assembly seat, the Samajwadi Party's Awadesh Prasad leads BJP candidate Lallu Singh. (ANI)
