UP: 70 people killed in rain-related incidents

Uttar Pradesh [India], Jul 29 (ANI): At least 70 people have been killed and 77 injured in the last three days as rain caused havoc in various parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh [India], Jul 29 (ANI): At least 70 people have been killed and 77 injured in the last three days as rain caused havoc in various parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the MeT Department has warned of heavy rains and thundershowers in various parts of the state.
"Sonebhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Ballia, Maunath Bhanjan, Azamgarh, Deoria districts will continue to receive heavy rains and thundershowers," MeT statement reported.
Maximum number of people (11) died in Saharanpur, followed by Meerut, Agra, Muzaffarnagar Kasganj and Manipuri.
It has been reported that as many as 408 houses and huts were damaged in the rain.
Death of 33 cattle has also been reported.
Earlier today, a woman and her son were killed after a roof of their house collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar.
In the wake of incessant pouring causing havoc in the state, the state government has directed officials to provide relief in the affected areas. (ANI)
