"Unlikely that AAP's govt will continue in Punjab": BJP MP Yogender Chandolia

New Delhi [India], February 11 (ANI): BJP MP Yogender Chandolia on Tuesday expressed his doubts over the continuation of the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) government in Punjab, stating that it is "very unlikely" that Bhagwant Mann will remain the Chief Minister or that the AAP government will continue in the state.
Chandolia's remark came following AAP's defeat in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly polls, where the AAP conceded a crushing defeat against the BJP, winning just 22 seats out of 70. Meanwhile, BJP won 48 seats.
He further noted that Arvind Kejriwal's control over the Punjab government was weakening.
"The people of Delhi have shattered Arvind Kejriwal's ego... He was running the Punjab government with a remote control. Now, he knows that Punjab MLAs are not satisfied and the CM is also not assured... It is very unlikely that Bhagwant Mann will remain the CM or AAP's government will continue (in Punjab)," Chandolia said.
He further remarked that Arvind Kejriwal and Congress were "two sides of the same coin," accusing both parties of opportunism, referring to both parties contesting against each other in Delhi despite being part of the INDIA alliance in the national front.
He also stated that Congress had failed in the last six elections in Delhi and was now "finished" in the national capital.
"Arvind Kejriwal and Congress are two sides of the same coin... They are opportunists. Whenever they had the chance, they came together and fought elections together and today they are levelling allegations against each other... Congress got a huge 'zero' in the last 6 elections in Delhi. It is finished in Delhi," he added.
Chandolia also addressed the controversy surrounding the 'Sheesh Mahal,' stating, "Why would a BJP CM live in the Sheesh Mahal? We will turn it into a museum of corruption so that the people of Delhi can see what Kejriwal has done. Any CM or minister of the BJP will never even go near the Sheesh Mahal."
Meanwhile, BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal also criticised the Aam Aadmi Party, calling it an "anarchist party" and accusing it of seeking support from anti-national elements.

He claimed that Kejriwal was trying to prevent his government from losing power in Punjab, much like in Delhi, by calling MLAs from Punjab to show that he still had control over the party.
"Aam Aadmi Party is a completely anarchist party; they have taken help from anti-national elements in every way... They are trying to prevent their government from losing power in Punjab like they did in Delhi... Arvind Kejriwal has become unemployed in Delhi; that is why, by calling MLAs from Punjab, he is showing that he still has control over the Aam Aadmi Party," Jaiswal said.
Notably, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Singh today attended a meeting called by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal at the Kapurthala House in New Delhi.
AAP suffered a massive setback in the Delhi elections and secured only 22 seats--a huge drop from its previous tally of 62 in the 2020 polls. With this historic mandate, BJP is returning to power in the national capital after 27 years. (ANI)
