Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Dec 1 (ANI): Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on Saturday clearly stated that a university cannot be used as a platform for an anti-India meeting. His comments come days after a senior professor of Jammu University labelled freedom fighter Bhagat Singh as a "terrorist".
Speaking to the media, Singh said that he endorses free flow of ideas and thoughts while adding, that "it is necessary to draw a bottom line somewhere."
"University cannot be used as a platform for an anti-India meeting. I am personally in favour of a free flow of ideas, thoughts, and ideology. But the bottom line has to be the commitment to national integrity," the Minister said.
Recently, a video of Mohammad Tajuddin, a senior professor in the political science department of the Jammu University, calling Bhagat Singh as a "terrorist" during a lecture circulated on social media. Tajuddin, however, apologised for his remark later. (ANI)
