Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 26 (ANI): Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, along with his family, visited the ISKCON temple in Vasantpur, Bengaluru, on Monday to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami.
"Happy Shri Krishna Janmashtami to all. I pray that Lord Krishna bestows health, happiness, peace, and prosperity on everyone," Kumaraswamy wrote in a post on X.
BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj also offered prayers at the ISKCON temple in Delhi on this auspicious occasion.
Expressing her happiness, Swaraj thanked the Prime Minister for initiating the Unified Pension Scheme.
"I feel really happy after visiting the ISKCON temple... I congratulate everyone on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami... On this auspicious occasion, PM Modi gave a huge relief to employees by approving the Unified Pension Scheme," she said.
ISKCON National Communications Director and Vice President of the East of Kailash ISKCON Temple in Delhi confirmed that the Maha Arti will be held at midnight today.
Devotees gathered at the ISKCON Temple in East of Kailash to celebrate Lord Krishna's birthday with great enthusiasm and devotion. An aarti was performed at Dwarka's ISKCON Temple on this occasion.
Vrajendra Nandan Das, speaking to ANI, said, "I congratulate everyone on the occasion of Janmashtami. ISKCON is celebrating this festival worldwide. Today, when the doors of ISKCON Delhi were opened at 4:30 am, thousands of devotees came to offer their prayers. The 'Maha Abhishek' will begin at 9:30 pm, and at 11 pm 'Chhappan Bhog' will be offered to Lord Krishna. The 'Maha Arti' will be held at midnight... I hope more than 5 lakh devotees will offer their prayers today."
Regarding the security arrangements for Krishna Janmashtami at Mathura's Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, Mathura Superintendent of Security, Bajrang Bali Chaurasia, informed that more than 2,000 security personnel have been deployed in the region.
Speaking to ANI, he detailed the security arrangements, stating that drones are being used to ensure safety.
"More than 2,000 security personnel have been deployed, and the entire region has been divided into three zones. In each zone, an additional SP has been deployed... Proper parking arrangements have been made... Gate No. 3 is the entry point for devotees... UP CM Yogi Adityanath will also be arriving... Teams of ATS, commandos, and fire services are also deployed... Drones are being used to ensure security and safety," said Mathura Superintendent of Security, Bajrang Bali Chaurasia.
Krishna Janmashtami celebrated on the eighth day of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, marks the birth of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu. This vibrant festival is observed with great devotion and enthusiasm across India. (ANI)
