Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "showcasing India to the world through yoga" as the nation celebrates the 10th International Day of Yoga on Friday.

Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 21 (ANI): Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "showcasing India to the world through yoga" as the nation celebrates the 10th International Day of Yoga on Friday.
Kumaraswamy and Minister of State Bhupati Raju Srinivas Verma performed yoga on the occasion at an event in BHEL township in Noida.
Wishing all fellow Indians on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, Kumaraswamy, in a post on X, said, "Yoga is a precious art of living that has flourished in this holy land as a legacy. Combining health and spirituality, yoga has become a global life-enhancer."
"In 2014, yoga gained top recognition at the United Nations, thanks to the efforts of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Avaru. Since 2015, International Yoga Day has been celebrated worldwide on June 21 every year. I heartily congratulate Mr. Modi for showcasing India to the world through yoga," he said.
He further urged everyone to make yoga a part of life and said, "Let's make yoga a part of our daily lives for a healthy body, a healthy mind, and a strong country.#InternationalYogaDay #Yoga"
Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, BL Verma, Kiren Rijiju and JP Nadda among others also performed yoga at different events in the national capital today.
BSF officers and jawans also performed Yoga at the Last Post of the International Border in RS Pura Sector on International Day of Yoga.

Later today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the celebrations of the 10th International Day of Yoga at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on Friday.
This year's event underscores Yoga's profound impact on young minds and bodies. The celebration aims to unite thousands in the practice of Yoga, promoting health and wellness on a global scale.
This year's theme, "Yoga for Self and Society," emphasizes yoga's vital role in fostering both individual well-being and societal harmony.
Since 2015, the Prime Minister has led the International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations at various iconic locations, including Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru and even the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
This year's celebrations will span across the Nation, with a notable event termed "Yoga for Space", wherein all the centres and units of ISRO will have programs on the practice of CYP or common Yoga Protocol. Globally, Embassies and Indian Missions abroad will join the celebrations, reflecting yoga's widespread influence. (ANI)
