Panaji (Goa) [India], Feb 1 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday said the Union Budget 2018 presented by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is not a populist budget but is a budget which will become popular.

Panaji (Goa) [India], Feb 1 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday said the Union Budget 2018 presented by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is not a populist budget but is a budget which will become popular.

Speaking to ANI, Parrikar said, "It is not a populist budget but a budget which will become popular. When the economy prospers we prosper."

Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the General Budget 2018-19 in the Parliament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Budget was development-friendly and focused not only on the ease of doing business but also on the ease of living for the common man. (ANI)
