"Unfortunate and serious": BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi slams TMC MP's remarks on PM Modi's Tejas sortie

New Delhi [India], November 27 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Monday said that the TMC leader Shantanu Sen's remarks that Tejas fighter aircraft might "crash" after PM Modi had flown in it are serious and unfortunate.
The BJP MP said that instead, the hopes of the opposition, which took off from Bengaluru in 2018, crashed.
"In 2018, the opposition formed an alliance in India's aerospace capital Bengaluru, against the BJP. This time too, they met in Patna, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Crash Toh Aapke Armaano Ka Ho Raha Hai (your hopes are crashing)," he said.
"This is unfortunate and serious. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Tejas is our completely indigenous aircraft. Today export orders are also coming for it. This has proved to be a milestone in the field of defence. And the PM has expressed the same sentiment, by taking a sortie in it," the BJP leader added.
This came after Trinamool Congress MP Shantanu Sen clamied that the Tejas fighter might "crash" after PM Modi had flown in it.
"I'm a little bit afraid when Narendra Modi was very much there in the country, the ISRO failed. When Kangana Ranaut met Narendra Modi, her movie became a super flop," TMC MP claimed on Saturday.
"When Virat Kohli shook hands with Narendra Modi, he didn't get a century for 3 consecutive years. And finally, after winning 10 consecutive matches in the recently held World Cup, just because our Prime Minister went to that stadium, India got defeated in the final...I'm afraid that in no time this particular aircraft might crash," he alleged.
PM Modi on Saturday flew a sortie in the indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured Tejas Twin Seat Light Combat Fighter aircraft in Bengaluru.
The sortie was carried out from the Aircraft Systems Testing Establishment, Bengaluru.
During the 30-minute sortie, the capabilities of fighter aircraft Tejas were demonstrated to the PM. This is the first time an Indian Prime Minister has flown a fighter aircraft sortie. The PM described his experience of flying the sortie as "memorable". (ANI)
