Saying that a debate in Parliament would allow for important public issues to be raised, the Congress leader told reporters, "How much will the public tolerate? The prices have only risen, unemployment is up, look at the LPG situation, just because of their policies and schemes. If a discussion could have happened in the Parliament it would have been good, at the very least could have raised issues of public importance."

Leader of Opposition in Uttarakhand Assembly, Yashpal Arya said earlier that the party is hoping for the smooth functioning of the house, and has asked the Speaker to address certain major issues of the state.

Congress MPs are scheduled to bring in a resolution to move the No-Confidence Motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday. 118 Opposition MPs have signed the motion, alleging "partisan" behaviour by the Speaker after the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, was allegedly not allowed to speak in the House.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant has asserted that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla cannot rise above the Constitution. Discussing the opposition's move to bring a no-confidence motion against him, Sawant stated that the motion of no-confidence is directed against the alleged misuse of power by the Speaker.

Sitharaman tagged the Congress party's handle and quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's description of Speaker Birla's qualities, highlighting his patience and leadership that accommodates all Members of Parliament, even when some members disrupt proceedings due to a "sense of dynastic privilege or feeling of entitlement."
