U'khand: CEO Saujanya flags off 'Doon Voter Express' to increase voters' turnout

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], Mar 30 (ANI): The state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Saujanya on Saturday flagged off five 'Doon Voter Express' vehicles to make people aware of the importance of voting in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], Mar 30 (ANI): The state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Saujanya on Saturday flagged off five 'Doon Voter Express' vehicles to make people aware of the importance of voting in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.  
"This time 100 per cent EVM and VVPAT will be used in Uttarakhand. Voter slip will be distributed to every voter before the polling date for the convenience of the voters," she said.
"Voters are being alerted to vote without being tempted. In all districts, the voter awareness campaign will be run at a broad level," she said.
The 11 documents which have been notified as an option for identification by the Election Commission include passport, driving licence, state, and Central government public enterprises, bank and post office passbooks, Pan Card, photo-linked pension documents, and Aadhar cards.
District Election Officer (DEO) S A Murugeshan said that vigilance awareness campaign through these 'travel raths' will pass through different places in Dehradun every day till April 9.
Uttarakhand will go to polls for all five seats in the first phase on April 11. (ANI)
