Two students from Uttarakhand repatriated from Israel under Operation Ajay, family thanks government

New Delhi [India], October 13 (ANI): Today at 5.50 am, under Operation Ajay, Indian citizens arrived in New Delhi after leaving Israel amid the Israel-Hamas conflict. They were brought back to Delhi from Israel by a special plane.
Among those who returned home were two citizens of Uttarakhand, Aarti Joshi and Ayush Mehra, who were received at the airport by the representative of the Uttarakhand state government. After their safe return, the family thanked the government.
Ajay Mishra, Resident Commissioner, Uttarakhand Government, said that for the citizens of Uttarakhand being brought back from Israel to India, arrangements have been made through state road transport to receive them at the airport and send them to their destination after coming to Uttarakhand Sadan Delhi.
As part of 'Operation Ajay' launched by the Indian Government to repatriate Indian citizens in Israel amid the ongoing war, as many as 212 Indian nationals landed in Delhi on Friday. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar was present at the airport to welcome them.
The Union Minister reassured the passengers, saying India's commitment to the safety of every Indian is unwavering. The Minister said that Prime Minister Modi is determined to protect them.
"Our government will never leave any Indian behind. Our government, our Prime Minister is determined to protect them and bring them back home safely. We are grateful to EAM Dr S Jaishankar, the team at the External Affairs Ministry, the flight crew of this Air India flight for making this possible, for bringing our children back home safely and soundly and back home to their loved ones," Chandrasekhar said.
Harsh, a master's student in electrical engineering at Tel Aviv University, conveyed his relief and thanked the Government, "We are happy that the Modi government is providing us with support through 'Operation Ajay.' My parents were worried due to the situation, but they will be happy to see me home now."
Another citizen who landed in Delhi said "This is the first time that we are facing such a situation over there. We are very thankful to the Indian government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing us back. We are hoping for peace as soon as possible so that we can go back to work as earliest as possible."
Operation Ajay is a repatriation programme launched by the Government of India to bring back the Indian citizens who wish to leave Israel amid the Israel-Hamas war. Special chartered flights are deployed to bring back the citizens safely.
Meanwhile as Israel's counter-offensive on Hamas entered its seventh day, Israeli Air Force fighter jets attacked operatives of the terrorist group Hamas and destroyed its military posts.
Israeli Air Force said that the fighter jets targeted houses that were used by operatives of Hamas, including the residence of a "Nakhba" (naval commando operative). Furthermore, Israeli Air Force revealed that the warplanes attacked a monitoring center of Hamas, which used to monitor the activities of Israeli forces.
A United Nations spokesperson said that the Israeli Defence Forces on Friday notified the UN that the entire Palestinian population north of Wadi Gaza should relocate to southern Gaza within 24 hours, The Times of Israel reported.
The UN spokesperson's statement indicated that the IDF could be readying to launch a ground invasion six days after Hamas's attack on Saturday, according to the report. (ANI)
