Two policemen killed in Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh

Speaking in Hyderabad during a surrender programme where 130 Maoists laid down arms, Reddy said the government believes change can be achieved through democratic means rather than violence.

"Top CPM leaders, including the Chief Minister, have unleashed a deliberate lie that KSU workers attacked the Health Minister, and on that false pretext, widespread violence has been carried out across the state. Every journalist, police officer, and railway police personnel present know that not a single protester even went near the Minister. Only four or five KSU workers were there, and they were already surrounded by 30-35 policemen," Satheesan said.

Two Maoists were killed in an encounter with the security forces near the Indravati River area in Chhattisgarh on Thursday. Several weapons, including an SLR rifle, an INSAS rifle, and a 12-bore rifle, along with explosives, were recovered. The operation was launched based on intel about the Maoist presence in the area.

Ensuring electricity to Gogunda is not just a facility, but the beginning of a social transformation. Bijapur Collector Amit Kumar noted that since the Forward Operating Base was established, basic infrastructure has been steadily developing in the area. For instance, a road has been constructed in the village. Additionally, the electricity line has also been extended in the former Naxal stronghold.

The injured personnel was immediately shifted to a higher medical centre for advanced treatment, a senior police officer said.
