Two persons nabbed for illegal arms transportation in Nasik

Nasik (Maharashtra) [India], October 14 (ANI): The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Nasik Unit officers on Saturday apprehended two persons for illegal arms transportation and seized three country-made pistols and eight rounds.

Two persons nabbed for illegal arms transportation in Nasik

Nasik (Maharashtra) [India], October 14 (ANI): The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Nasik Unit officers on Saturday apprehended two persons for illegal arms transportation and seized three country-made pistols and eight rounds.

The culprits on investigation revealed that they were going to supply the weapons to a man in Nasik, who was also later taken into custody by the ATS.

The ATS Nasik Unit officers on receiving reliable information regarding illegal arms transportation from neighboring state laid a trap near Pimpalgaon Baswat Toll Plaza in Nasik district of Maharashtra.

During the toll plaza checking, it was found that riders of a two wheeler were carrying three country-made pistols and eight rounds, after which the riders were apprehended by the ATS.

A case has been registered at ATS Kalachauky Police Station against the two nabbed people, who were identified as Abhidatta Khanderao Patil (23) and Hitesh Ratan Deore (24), both residents of Cidco Nasik.

All three apprehended people are remanded to police custody till October 20.

Further investigation is underway in the matter to discover any terror involvement angle.(ANI)
