New Delhi [India], April 26 (ANI): Two men were arrested for allegedly robbing a woman from Uganda in Delhi's Chhattarpur area, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred when the 27-year-old foreign national was walking on her way to Chhattarpur Pahari from Phool Mandi at 100 Feet Road around 10:45 PM on Thursday.
While attempting to loot her, the accused thrashed her and tore her clothes before fleeing from the spot.
According to Delhi police, last night around midnight, a PCR call regarding a lady who was injured on the road was received at Police Station Mehrauli. On reaching the spot, a 27-year-old Ugandan national was found injured, and she was taken to the hospital by PCR.
In her complaint, she stated, "At around 10:45 PM, she was going from Phool Mandi at 100 Feet Road, Chhattarpur Pahari, and walking on the footpath when suddenly two boys who had a dog were walking behind her. She was scared of dogs, so she tried to keep away from them. However, the boys grabbed her from behind and dragged her to the other side of the wall."
"There was an altercation, and they robbed her purse, which contained Rs 800 in cash and one silver ring. They also tore her clothes and hit her head with a stone before fleeing from the spot," she added in her statement.
Later, an FIR was filed under Mehrauli police station, and based on the CCTV footage and local intelligence, both the accused were identified as Kinnu and Rinku Kashyap.
Subsequently, they were nabbed from Satbari Village, New Delhi. They both are addicted to drugs, robbed the lady victim, and were found slightly intoxicated when apprehended, police said in a statement. (ANI)
