Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh) [India], September 21 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday interacted with the Dhurwa community people in Jagdalpur, stating that the true identity of the state lies in "tribal traditions and culture."
Sharing a post on 'X', the Chhattisgarh CM mentioned that he feels a sense of "warmth" and "belonging" while staying among the Dhurwa community people.
"The true identity of Chhattisgarh lies in our tribal traditions and culture. Upon coming among the Dhurwa community, I felt a sense of warmth and belonging. The affection and respect received through the offering of chhatri, tuwal, koti, and bow-and-arrow symbolize our deep cultural roots," the 'X' post read.
CM Sai also inaugurated the newly constructed buildings of the Dhurwa community in the Jagdalpur Van Vidyalaya campus. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma Ji, Minister Kedar Kashyap, MP Mahesh Kashyap and others were present.
"Today, in the Jagdalpur Van Vidyalaya campus, I inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Dhurwa community. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma Ji, Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap Ji, MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap Ji, State BJP President Shri Kiran Singh Dev Ji, MLA Shri Vinayak Goyal Ji, Shri Chaitram Atami Ji, and Mayor Shri Sanjay Pandey Ji, along with many other public representatives, were present," the post added.
While speaking to the reporters, he also hailed the tribal community tradition in which they offer food to their deities first before eating it themselves.
"This event was organised in the presence of all senior members of the Dhurwa community. We are grateful to the Dhurwa community for inviting us to this event... In the tribal community, it is a very good tradition that before eating any grain or fruit, they offer it to the deities," Vishnu Deo told reporters.
Furthermore, he also addressed the issue of religious conversion complaints being received in the state, informing that a bill will be introduced on the issue in the upcoming assembly session.
"Wherever complaints (regarding religious conversion) are being received, concrete action is being taken there, and in the upcoming assembly session, we are going to introduce a strict bill on this issue in the assembly," Sai added. (ANI)
