TRS's letter to the Election Commission over ban on election survey

Hyderabad (Telangana), Dec 1, (ANI): Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS), led by K Chandrashekhar Rao, on Saturday wrote to the Election Commission of India (ECI), seeking direction to ban election survey in the state.
In a letter to the ECI, the party wrote, "Lagadapati Raj Gopal, while mentioning about his survey report, stated that he is going to release two names of winning candidates daily. He also declared the names of three candidates who are going to win, one at Narayanpet and another at the Boath constituency."
"It is nothing but disobedience to the orders of the Election Commission of India, that is, ban on the election surveys," the party added.
The letter further reads, "This is a pre-plan of the opposition parties to gain an undue advantage by releasing the survey report. There is every possibility that this kind of propaganda may definitely influence the voters. Hence, we strongly condemn this kind of propaganda by the opposition parties and request you to take stringent action against the responsible."
"We request you to take action to stop the release of results of survey reports till the completion of the poll until December 7," the ruling TRS party concluded.
The Legislative Assembly election in Telangana is scheduled to be held on December 7. The counting of votes will take place on December 11. (ANI)
