Agartala (Tripura) [India], April 21 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the state celebrated a dual triumph at the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration on the occasion of the 17th Civil Services Day.
Speaking to ANI, Chief Minister Saha said, "I thank PM Modi. Gomati has been recognised as a top-performing district in India and Ganganagar Block has been recognised as the best block. This is a big achievement for Tripura...This serves as an inspiration for the state."
The Chief Minister echoed similar sentiments on Facebook, highlighting the state's commitment to development and applauding the efforts of Ganganagar's residents and district officials.
"It's a matter of pride that Ganganagar, an aspirational block in Tripura's Dhalai district, has been honoured with the prestigious PM Excellence Award 2024. Congratulations to the people of Ganganagar block and Saju Vaheed A., DM & Collector of Dhalai district, who received the award from Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji on Civil Services Day. This achievement reflects the State Government's commitment to progress in the region and showcases the block's dedication to excellence," he wrote in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his delight over the theme of this year's Civil Services Day, 'Holistic Development of India".
He outlined the essence of holistic development, stating, "Holistic Development of India means no village left behind, no family left behind, and no citizen left behind."
"We often talk about aspirational districts, but the success of Aspirational Blocks is just as crucial. Launched in January 2023, the Aspirational Blocks Programme has brought remarkable improvements in key areas like health, social development, and basic infrastructure, within just two years. In some cases, these blocks have even outperformed state averages. For instance, in the Peeplu block of Tonk, Rajasthan, child measurement efficiency at Anganwadi Centres was just 20 per cent two years ago. Today, it has soared to over 99 per cent." he added. (ANI)
