Tripura gets Rs 20 crore boost from ONGC to become open defecation free

Agartala (Tripura) [India], Jan 24 (ANI): Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) extended their support to Tripura government in making the state open defecation free.

ONGC Executive Director and Tripura Asset Manager Gautam Kumar Singha Roy handed over the cheque of Rs 20 crore to Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in Agartala on Thursday

Agartala (Tripura) [India], Jan 24 (ANI): Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) extended their support to Tripura government in making the state open defecation free.
During a programme, Gautam Kumar Singha Roy, ONGC executive director and Tripura Asset manager, presented a cheque of Rs 20 crore under the head of Jibandhara State Water and Sanitation Mission (JSWSM) to Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at his official residence situated in Agartala.
Besides ONGC, the other firms who would provide the financial aid for the scheme are Indian Oil Corp, Oil India Limited and Gas Authority of India Limited.
This move by taken by the ONGC in line with the Swachh Bharat Mission that was launched on October 2, 2014, with an aim to achieve universal sanitation coverage, improve cleanliness, and eliminate open defecation in the country by October 2, 2019. (ANI)
