Tripura CM unveils multiple projects including initiatives concerning infrastructure, education

Agartala (Tripura) [India], March 4 (ANI): In a step towards the comprehensive development of Unakoti district, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha attended the foundation stone-laying ceremony of 19 new projects and inaugurated 15 completed initiatives, marking a milestone in the district's growth.
The foundation stone-laying ceremony, held today, covered a wide range of infrastructure, educational, healthcare, and community development projects with an estimated budget exceeding Rs 100 crore, a release said.
The key projects included District Magistrate and Samaharta office construction with an estimated cost of Rs 24 lakhs and Rs 20 lakhs respectively, Kailashahar Sub-division Ruler's Office with a budget of Rs 8 crores, District Transport Office in Kailashahar estimated at Rs 6.5 crores, additional classrooms at Bhadra pally Higher Secondary School in Chandipur Block worth Rs 8.51 crores and infrastructure development of Ramkamal Higher Secondary School under Kumarghat RD Division, worth Rs 14.74 crore.
Other notable projects include the construction of sub-health centers, veterinary hospitals, drug de-addiction centers, and recreational facilities like a tennis court in Kailashahar and a synthetic football field at Chinibagan, with estimated costs ranging from Rs 63 lakh to Rs 20 crore.
The foundation stones also included critical infrastructure such as the District Information System for Education Office and the Kailashahar Paitur Bazar Working Women Hostel, focusing on improving education, women's welfare, and community infrastructure in the district.
In addition, the Chief Minister inaugurated 15 completed projects across various sectors, including government office buildings, schools, market stalls, and even a 50-bed hostel building at Kailashahar District Training Center.
The inauguration of community halls, footbridges, and renovated ponds further emphasises the government's commitment to improving the quality of life for the people of Unakoti.
With an estimated budget exceeding Rs 100 crore, these initiatives reflect the state's dedication to fostering sustainable development and providing better opportunities for the people of Unakoti. This series of inaugurations and foundation stone layings marks a historic day for the district and a step forward in Tripura's overall development strategy.
The main event took place at the Chandipur block premises, where the Chief Minister was joined by Social Education and Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, key officials including Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, Secretary Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Transport Department Secretary Chandra Kumar Jamatia, and State Social Education Department Director Tapan Kumar Das, among others.
Earlier, the Tripura Chief Minister discussed the development of railway services and infrastructure in the state with a Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) delegation here.
The delegation led by NFR General Manager (Construction) Arun Kumar Chowdhury called on Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha at the Secretariat in Agartala on Monday.
The discussions focused on the progress of the electrification of railway lines, the introduction of electric passenger trains from Badarpur to Sabroom, the conversion of the single-line railway track to a double-line track, the introduction of the Agartala-Guwahati intercity rail service, the current status of the construction of 23 railway overbridges, and the upgradation of Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Udaipur railway stations into modern railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
