Agartala (Tripura) [India], October 10 (ANI): On the auspicious occasion of Saptami, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday engaged in the Matri Aradhana at the Ramakrishna Mission in Agartala.
He emphasised the cultural significance of the festival. He also attended the Durga Puja festivities at the Sanghati Club in Kailashahar Sri Rampur.
During his visit, Saha took the opportunity to exchange warm wishes with local residents, celebrating the spirit of the Sharadiya Durga Utsav. His participation in these events highlights the importance of cultural traditions in fostering community spirit and unity among the people.
CM Saha took to X and said that he participated in the 'universal' festival with people.
"On Punya Saptami Tithi we received the blessings of Maa Durga, organized at the residence of the State Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Tinku Roy at Chandipur. I am deeply touched by the Roy family's warm hospitality. Durga Puja is a festival of devotion, culture and union. People from all parts of the state rejoiced in the worship of Goddess Mahamaya Durga. I also participated in this universal festival with people from all over the state. A few moments of circumambulation at various places," he said.
Earlier, on October 9, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the Agartala Durga Puja pandal, drawing attention to attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh.
Durga Puja, the biggest festival in Tripura after West Bengal, is in full swing, attracting large crowds of people and visitors to the numerous pandals, which are illuminated and adorned with captivating themes.
This year, around 900 pandals have been registered for the celebrations across Agartala and its municipal areas, according to sources. Many of these are large-scale, high-budget installations, showcasing intricate designs and creative concepts. (ANI)
