Tribute paid to Param Vir Lance Naik Albert Ekka on death anniversary

Lichubagan (Tripura) [India], Dec 4 (ANI): Lance Naik Albert Ekka, who was killed in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation war and was also awarded India's highest gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra (posthumously), was paid tribute on his death anniversary in Agartala on Monday.

Lichubagan (Tripura) [India], Dec 4 (ANI): Lance Naik Albert Ekka, who was killed in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation war and was also awarded India's highest gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra (posthumously), was paid tribute on his death anniversary in Agartala on Monday.
People paid floral tribute to Ekka along with the local Member of Legislative Assembly Dilip Das.
Speaking to ANI Das said, "We are remembering a person who saved this city. During the war of 1971, he along with his fellows saved the city from the attack of Pakistan's army. These people at the cost of their lives saved the city."
Ekka along and 13 others were killed while fighting against the Pakistani troops on the Eastern Front on December 4, 1971, at Gangasagar in erstwhile East Pakistan (present Bangladesh) opposite Agartala. The place is located near Akhaura in Brahmanbaria district.
A small war memorial was built at Dukli in memory of Ekka and other soldiers who died during the war. (ANI)
