Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 23 (ANI): In a historic moment, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami joined in the jubilation as India's third lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, successfully executed a soft landing on the moon's south pole. The momentous achievement was met with nationwide excitement and pride, as the mission marked a significant step forward in India's space exploration endeavours.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his elation, said “Today is historic for the whole country, India's Chandrayaan has landed on the South pole of the Moon...I congratulate all the scientists and our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Meanwhile, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar also shared his pride, emphasizing the collective sentiment of the nation.
Chandrasekhar said that it's a great moment for 1.4 billion Indians today who for the last few days waited with anticipation, and prayed fervently before the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3.
“I am deeply proud to be Indian and to be a part of PM Modi's government. Today India has gone to the Moon and landed in an area where no other country has ever landed...Congratulations ISRO, every scientist and every Indian," he added.
A lander with a rover inside touched down on the lunar surface at 6:04 local time, sparking cheers and applause among the space scientists watching in the southern Indian city of Bengaluru.
After a failed attempt nearly four years ago, India made history by becoming the first country to touch down near the little-explored South Pole region and joined the United States, the Soviet Union and China in achieving a moon landing. (ANI)
