Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Oct 25 (ANI): West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee on Thursday said that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) will organise a convention on November 16, chaired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, to discuss threadbare the mega anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally scheduled to be held in Kolkata on January 19.
Addressing a press conference, Chatterjee said the party will organise the rally with a slogan "2019 BJP will finish" at Brigade Ground in Kolkata. "We are going to organise a convention on November 16 in the presence of the Chief Minister and party members across West Bengal to talk about January 19 rally," he said.
With an aim to defeat BJP in the general elections slated next year, Chief Minister Banerjee had recently announced to hold a mega anti-BJP rally on January 19 and claimed that several top opposition leaders from across the country have already confirmed their presence on the occasion.
The TMC chief further said that among those invited for the rally, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, caretaker Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah have already confirmed their presence. (ANI)
