Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 16 (ANI): BJP leader Boora Narsaiah Goud on Thursday, reacting to the attempted arrest of the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of Telangana Minister Konda Surekha, said that this is just "the tip of the iceberg," alleging larger "corruption" in the Congress party.
He also suggested that the Telangana government is making OSD, N. Sumanth, a "scapegoat" alleging that all government offices under Congress are "epicentre of corruption."
"The recent episode of Telangana police trying to arrest the OSD of the minister (Konda Surekha) is nothing new. It is just the tip of the iceberg. Congress means corruption. It has a corruption in its name. Maybe they are trying to make an OSD as a scapegoat. From the CMO office to the MLA's office, minister camp office, they are the epicentres of corruption in Telangana. It is a reality... The looted money from Telangana has been partly sent to Rahul Gandhi, and most of it is cornered by the ministers, MLAs and the Congress leaders, including the CMO," Boora Narsaiah Goud said.
This comes after a police officer reportedly attempted to arrest N. Sumanth, who serves as OSD to Minister Konda Surekha,
Surekha's daughter, Konda Sushmita, intervened and stopped the arrest, accusing the Chief Minister's office of targeting her mother as part of a political vendetta.
Konda Sushmitha alleged that her mother is being "targeted" by the state government. "My mother is a minister, and look how they're treating us. We don't understand what we've done wrong. There are murder attempts on us, and this is a murder attempt. A lady constable came here, and I'm not sure if she was an SI or CI. They're not just going after TRS, they're targeting our residence and our women," she said.
"Our OSD, Sumanth, was terminated yesterday without any explanation. The police came here saying Sumanth was in our house, but they didn't have an arrest warrant. They came in mufti, and I told the Task Force CI to bring a warrant if they want to take him," she added.
She further suggested CM Revanth Reddy's involvement in the whole saga.
"There's compulsory CM involvement in this matter. How can this happen without the CM's intervention? Why are they targeting a BC lady? My father is the first MLC in the entire country. I'm asking why the gunmen are for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's brothers." (ANI)
