"Timeless reminder of unwavering resolve": Rajnath Singh pays tribute to Kargil war heroes

New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday paid heartfelt tributes to the brave soldiers who fought valiantly in the 1999 Kargil War, saying that their sacrifice is a "timeless reminder" of the unwavering resolve of the Indian Armed Forces.
In a social media post on X, the Union Defence Minister said, "On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I pay heartfelt tributes to our bravehearts who displayed extraordinary courage, grit and determination in defending our nation's honour in the toughest of terrains. Their supreme sacrifice during Kargil war is a timeless reminder of the unwavering resolve of our Armed Forces. India shall remain forever indebted to their service."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tributes to the brave heroes, saying that the nation will forever remain indebted to their "sacrifice and dedication."
"Kargil Vijay Diwas' is an unforgettable day of pride and the saga of victory for our nation's brave soldiers. In the year 1999, our soldiers, through 'Operation Vijay,' brought the enemy to their knees, setting an indelible example of indomitable courage and valor. On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, I pay tribute to all those brave heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for the defense of the motherland. The nation will forever remain indebted to your sacrifice and dedication," Shah posted on X.

On Saturday, the country is celebrating the 26th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas. The families of the soldiers remember the bravery and dedication of their loved ones who laid their lives during the war between India and Pakistan at icy heights in 1999.
Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on July 26, commemorates the success of Operation Vijay in 1999. During this conflict, Indian forces successfully reclaimed strategic positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir that had been infiltrated by Pakistani soldiers and terrorists. (ANI)
