Tihar jail bends its mind to rules of yoga

Two alleged shooters wanted in connection with the murder of a businessman in Bawana were injured and arrested following an encounter with the Delhi Police in the Rohini area late Monday night, officials said.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Member Secretary of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to visit a district park in Rohini Sector-20 and verify allegations regarding the illegal installation of swings and alleged violations of rules governing the use of public parks.

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a racket involved in selling counterfeit spare parts and accessories of iPhones as genuine products in Rohini.

A massive fire erupted in the slum clusters near Rithala Metro Station in northwest Delhi's Rohini area on Thursday morning, gutting more than 50 shanties and displacing dozens of residents. The blaze, reported at around 4:15 AM, prompted a rapid response from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), with 15 fire tenders rushing to the scene to contain the flames.

The Court also sought an explanation for the failure to file the charge sheet within the statutory period. The direction came after the Court found contradictions in successive police reports and expressed dissatisfaction despite replies having been filed by the SI, Inspector, DCP and Joint CP.
