"Those people who faced defeat are wandering here and there": BJP MLA Ashish Shelar amid EVM controversy

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 12 (ANI): BJP MLA, Ashish Shelar slammed the the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi Amid the EVM controversy and said the opposition has nowhere to go after suffering a humiliating defeat.
"...VVPAT has been rechecked and the opposition has been slammed by the HC as well. they have the right to the (approach the) Supreme Court but even after that, they will have to be discouraged...For BJP, EVM means 'Every Vote Matters' while for Congress it means 'Ego Very Much'," the BJP leader told ANI.
"Those people who faced defeat are wandering here and there to hide their faces. Congres suffered a humiliating defeat. MVA does not have anywhere to go. The public is excited. The Mahayuti government was voted to power," he added.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sambit Patra on Wednesday lashed out at the opposition parties for questioning the functioning of the (Electronic Voting Machines) EVMs and said that the Congress has no respect for the Constitution.
"We have seen news that Congress and some allied parties have decided that they will take the Election Commission to the Supreme Court regarding these assembly election results... The Congress repeatedly goes to the Supreme Court regarding EVM and comes back after being defeated... If anyone has been humiliated, it is the Congress... The working of EVM and the Election Commission have captured this entire process on CCTV and put it in front of everyone through a press conference. Still, the Congress is going to the Supreme Court regarding this entire issue. This shows that the Congress has no respect for the Constitution," Patra told reporters
The debate over Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) reignited as the Opposition is planning to approach the Supreme Court questioning their reliability.
The allegations of the EVM tampering made headlines days after the results of the Maharashtra assembly polls.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Wednesday met the Election Commissioner. Kejriwal has alleged that the BJP is trying to cut votes from the voters' list ahead of the Delhi Assembly election. (ANI)
