Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 20 (ANI): Ahead of the by-polls in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 83 development projects worth over Rs 1000 crore in Milkipur assembly constituency.
CM emphasised that Ayodhya, calling it the capital of 'Suryavansh', is going to be the first solar city of the country.
"This is the new Ayodhya, this is also going to be the first solar city of the country. The capital of 'Suryavansh' is becoming the first solar city. Samajwadi Party used to live in darkness, how can they accept it? Development has never been part of their agenda," CM Yogi said.
CM further highlighted the efforts made by the government to benefit the people of Milkinpur.
"Under PMJAY scheme 2369 people got the benefits in Milkipur, In Ayodhya, under Har Ghar Nal yojana, we are trying to provide water to all, Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, 94500 farmers are receiving benefits in Milkipur," CM Yogi said.
CM Yogi, speaking on Ayodhya's development, added, "Any route connecting Ayodhya, be it Amethi-Rae Bareli, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Gorakhpur. All of these are connected with 4-lane connectivity today. Has anyone thought that Ayodhya would also get an international airport. Congress and Samajwadi never wanted to build an airport in Ayodhya, we have done that."
By-elections for 10 assembly seats in UP are expected later this year.
The ten assembly seats scheduled for by-polls are Katehari (Ambedkar Nagar), Ghaziabad, Majhawan (Mirzapur), Sisamau (Kanpur Nagar), Karhal (Mainpuri), Milkipur (Ayodhya), Meerapur (Muzaffarnagar), Khair (Aligarh), Phulpur (Prayagraj), and Kundarki (Moradabad).
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that the BJP is well-prepared for the by-polls and is confident of regaining its seats, as well as potentially capturing those held by the Samajwadi Party.
"BJP is preparing rigorously from the booth level to the Vidhan Sabha level across all 10 constituencies. We are confident of not only reclaiming our seats but also capturing seats currently held by the Samajwadi Party," Maurya said.
Out of the ten seats going to the polls, five were previously won by the Samajwadi Party, three by the BJP, and one each by the Rashtriya Lok Dal and Nishad Party, both of which are NDA partners. (ANI)
