New Delhi [India], November 19 (ANI): As the national capital continues to grapple with an 'airpocalypse,' Delhi BJP MP Manoj Tiwari distributed masks to the public at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station as air quality remains in the 'severe plus' category on Tuesday.
BJP leader Manoj Tiwari alongwith other party members handed out N95 masks to the people as a measure to protect them from the polluted air and also from transfer of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material.

Visuals show the BJP leader also help an official on duty make use of the mask amidst the poor air quality.

Speaking to ANI, Tiwari said highlighted the growing concern over pollution in Delhi, drawing a comparison between the current situation and the imposition of an Emergency, implying a sense of urgency and crisis.
He criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Arvind Kejriwal's government for their handling of the issue, suggesting that while mistakes have been made by them, the people of Delhi are bearing the brunt of the consequences.
Tiwari stressed that awareness alone is insufficient, and advocates for a "concrete solution" to the pollution problem, which he claims only the BJP can provide.
"This is like imposing Emergency. Mistakes have been made by AAP and Arvind Kejriwal's govt but the consequences are faced by the people of Delhi. I think we all need to wake up now. We are trying to create awareness of wearing masks but there needs to be a concrete solution which only BJP can give," Manoj Tiwari told ANI.
"I request everyone to wear masks for the coming month and in future give a chance to the BJP so that we can keep Delhi away from using masks," he added.
The air quality in the national capital remained in the the 'severe plus' category for the second consecutive day on Tuesday morning, with smog shrouding the city, reducing visibility and worsening air pollution to touch an alarmingly high level of poor AQI.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the national capital recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) at 488 as of 8 am, placing it in the 'severe plus' category.
At such high Air Quality Index (AQI) levels, the air is considered hazardous to health, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and people with respiratory or heart conditions.
Amid 'severe' pollution in the national capital, the Supreme Court on Monday issued a circular advising litigants and advocates in the apex court premises to ensure wearing masks and taking health measures. (ANI)
