"This is dharma yuddh": G Kishan Reddy lashes out at Congress, BRS ahead of Local Body polls

Calling the Hyderabad LAC election a "dharma yuddh," G Kishan Reddy said Congress and BRS are backing AIMIM to defeat BJP. He alleged both parties act under Asaduddin Owaisi's command and accused them of historical support for the Razakar-linked party.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 18 (ANI): Union Minister and BJP leader G Kishan Reddy on Friday launched a sharp attack on Congress, BRS, and AIMIM ahead of the Hyderabad Local Authorities Constituency (LAC) election, calling their alliance an attempt to defeat the BJP and branding AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi as the "super boss" of both Congress and BRS.
He described the election as a "dharma yuddh" and expressed confidence that BJP would win.
"All three parties are making efforts to defeat the BJP's candidate. This is a dharma yuddh (righteous war), and the BJP will definitely win this war. We will go among the people of Telangana," he said.
"Election to the Hyderabad Local Authorities Constituency (LAC) seat of the Legislative Council will be held on 23rd April. BJP has filed a nomination for this election, and AIMIM has also filed a nomination," Reddy said.
He noted that while BRS had submitted a nomination, the Congress party, currently the ruling party in the state, had not.
"However, the ruling party, Congress, which is currently the opposition party in the Assembly and has ruled for ten years in the past, has not submitted a nomination. The BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) party has also filed a nomination," he said.
"Both of these parties (Congress and BRS) support the MIM party in ensuring its victory and defeating the BJP," he alleged, adding, "These three parties, under the leadership of Asaduddin Owaisi, are essentially acting in concert, acting like puppets."
Reddy further claimed that Owaisi wields more influence over these parties than their official leaders.
"For Congress, Asaduddin Owaisi is the real boss, not Rahul Gandhi. For BRS, not KCR (K. Chandrashekar Rao) but Owaisi is the boss. In reality, Owaisi is the 'super boss' of both these parties in Telangana," he said.
"These parties dance to his tune. They act on Owaisi's signals. Their politics follows Owaisi's commands," Reddy added.
Reddy also linked the alliance to historical events.
"Just like Congress and BRS support the AIMIM party, not only now, but since the time of the Razakar movement, they have been supporting the AIMIM party," he said.
Reddy alleged, "The AIMIM party is essentially the party of the Razakars. And Congress has always worked to protect and promote this party -- even now, during elections," Reddy alleged.
The Election Commission on March 23 announced the biennial elections for one seat of Telangana Legislative Council that will take place on April 23.
Polling will be held for Hyderabad Local Authorities MLC Constituency.
The polling was necessitated as the term of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC MS Prabhakar will expire on May 1.
According to ECI, the last date of filing nominations will be April 4 with scrutiny of nominations to be held on April 7.
Votes will be counted on April 25.
The Election Commission also mentioned that the Model Code of Conduct comes into force with immediate effect in the concerned Constituency. (ANI)
